It all started with a dream. Seriously.  But not the type of dream you would expect.  It started with a dream of a football team being better than they were.  Main Gate Visuals founder Rob O'Sullivan got his foundation in video by creating highlight films for Army (West Point) football.  While the team struggled on the field, he put their best plays on the screen.

The highlight videos were developed at night and on weekends.  During the day, Rob worked as an executive at Comcast, leading the Advanced Services group within the East Division of the company.  But the desire to move into the video production space became his true passion, and in 2009, he founded Main Gate Visuals.

What Rob enjoys most about creating video is the emotion it evokes.  The ability to tell a story, to use visual imagery, music, and voice in a way that takes its viewer to a new place.  He took his passion for film, coupled it with his corporate management experience, and set off on an adventure that would literally take him out of the office and around the world.

Main Gate Visuals was able to secure its first major client - the US Army, working on a multi-year project that took us all over the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.  At the same time, we began developing a series with Caleb Campbell, which has now evolved into a dual-pronged production for both television and film.  That experience took us to Los Angeles, where we expanded our development efforts around documentary television and film and began to explore other areas of non-scripted television.

Then the floodgates opened.  We began to connect with some of the highest caliber talent and staff in the industry.  We combined their talents with a process-driven development and production execution strategy.  The result has been the ability to efficiently produce high-quality work while maintaining a creative edge.

Since our inception, we have broadened our reach to include all areas of film, television, and online media, always maintaining a focus on people, imagery, and story. 

We are storytellers.  We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the content we develop seriously. No matter what project we take on, we remain true to our foundation:  tell the story.  The ones that need to be told, the ones that haven't been told, and the ones that make you want to hear them over and over again.  Main Gate Visuals will develop and deliver that story in an unforgettable way.
